Tue July 12th

The Show
Today was tatuesday and it almost didn't happen at all. We were without a Tattoo Artist less than 24 hours ago. The band (my guests) had an artist lined up who bowed out, leaving us artist-less. Luckily, with the help of the guys from the Shamrock Social Club, the fellas at Rubes Tattoo Parlor and ultimately Patrick from our Promotions Department, combined with Stacey's diligence, we were able to locate a very talented artist. There was a very interesting conversation with a very interesting filmmaker whose passion, and dedication to his craft, could not equal anything less than a quality MightyMorningShow guest. I gave away a couple of Iggy Pop DVDs, some sort of elaborate Iggy Pop box set thing. I tried to call my Mother and she was unreachable (damn!) it's her birthday.

The Guests
Three of the four members of the local band, The Ignorant, Matt, Chip, and Diego came by. Chip got a modern traditional dagger and rose motif tattooed across his torso/ribcage area. The Ignorant are playing at the Troubadour tomorrow night at an Indie 1031 sponsored show with The Street Dogs and Throw Rag. The artist was a really great guy who saved our skin, and tattooed Chip's. His name was Captain Dave, and he was from Studio City Tattoo Parlor. Craig Brewer from Memphis, Tennessee, the writer and director of the movie Hustle and Flow, which is going to be released in theaters July 22 came in with Erin from the American Film Institute. Erin and the people at AFI are exceptionally helpful, and very good to us. Craig was endlessly interesting, and he promised us he would return.
